First United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, TN
Curating Experiential Worship with Lilly Lewin
Advent, Christmas & Epiphany
This workshop will focus on curating sacred spaces for Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany but is still very beginner-friendly. You need not attend the first workshop to attend this one.
About “Curating Experimental Worship with Lilly Lewin”
Since only 20% of the world learn through their ears, how do we help the rest of us remember and experience the Story of God? Experiential Worship and Sacred Spaces help! Bring a friend and learn how to make worship more engaging and participatory. Learn how to go from a passage of scripture to a prayer station and curate creativity in worship gatherings for all generations. Great for youth & young adult leaders, children’s ministry leaders, and pastors.
Join us in the beautiful historic town of Shelbyville, TN—home of the TN Walking Horse Celebration and just a little over an hour from the Nashville airport. You are welcome to make a weekend out of it (lots of Airbnb’s in the area). You can enjoy antiquing or a field trip to Uncle Nearest, or just enjoy the area.
Lilly Lewin has curated and transformed worship for churches ranging from small Episcopalian to contemporary mega churches for more than two decades. She now hosts Thinplace, a house church gathering both in person and online, where she uses art, lectio divina, and silence to help people connect with God. Lilly has also curated the Sanctuary Space at the National Youth Workers Convention (Youth Specialties) and co-authored Sacred Space: A Hands-On Guide to Creating Multisensory Worship Experiences. She finds joy in revitalizing liturgy and helping people discover the beauty of God outside traditional church settings. Lilly loves Jesus, dark chocolate, and her husband, Rob. Though she lives in Nashville, TN, her heart is in Scotland.
